Riding Through the Islands - Scouting Greece with Rolling Dreamers

In the process of planning a new trip, there’s one essential rule: ride the route first.

For Rolling Dreamers, every new destination begins in the saddle — not behind a desk.

That’s what brought them to Greece: six days of scouting across three islands — Corfu, Lefkada, and Kefalonia — to test, refine, and understand every route, exactly as future guests will experience it. No assumptions, no shortcuts. Just real riding, in real conditions. And for that, the Basso Palta was the tool of choice: versatile, stable, and ready for anything.

Corfu – A Landscape of Contrasts

The trip began on Corfu, with two rides connecting Gouvia and Kassiopi. Gravel was limited but unforgettable: rough, technical, and scattered through olive groves and remote interior roads. These rugged sections alternated with stretches of tarmac that climbed toward panoramic views of the Ionian Sea — calm, expansive, and always present on the horizon.

The team spent their nights on a sailboat, docking in quiet harbors after long days in the saddle. There, the bikes rested on deck — ready for the next ride. The Palta handled each transition in terrain with control and ease, allowing the focus to remain fully on the route, the conditions, and the fine details that matter when you’re riding for more than yourself.

Lefkada – Into the Wild

After a ferry crossing and short transfer, the team reached Lefkada for a single, striking ride. It started on smooth, steady tarmac — climbing toward a deserted military outpost, high above the coastline. From there, the road disappeared. In its place: highly technical gravel, loose rock, sandy corners, and exposed lines that demanded attention and respect.

These are the moments that test a rider. And these are the rides where scouting truly counts — when the surface is unstable, the surroundings unfamiliar, and the only constant is your equipment. The Palta met every challenge head-on, with the agility and confidence needed to keep exploring deeper, no matter what came next.

Kefalonia – Gravel at Its Finest

The final leg of the journey unfolded on Kefalonia — a destination that offered some of the most scenic and complete gravel riding of the trip. Across three distinct rides, the team traced quiet coastal loops, inland climbs shaded by ancient trees, fast gravel descents, and long stretches of empty road.

Here, the riding was more balanced. Still wild, still physical, but with space to enjoy the rhythm. There were moments to stop for a swim, moments to coast and take in the landscape, and moments to push harder. Through all of it, the Palta proved its full range — efficient on the climbs, forgiving on the descents, and comfortable over long hours in the sun.

Scouting rides raise questions no map can answer. That’s why Rolling Dreamers choose the Basso Palta — not just for performance, but for its resilience across shifting terrain and unknown paths.

Designed to meet the demands of real-world exploration, the Palta delivers reliability where it matters most.

If this journey speaks to you, the route is open. The Palta is ready.
